Series 1 Summary

The first series introduces the colourful characters who make up President Bartlett's inner circle. Recovering alcoholic Leo McGarry is the street-smart chief of staff, the president's confidant and right-hand man. He is ably assisted by formidable press secretary CJ Cregg, hard-bitten communications director Toby Zeigler and charismatic press officer Sam Seaborn.
